The number of U.S. companies exporting continues to increase, and so does the share of exports represented by small and medium sized companies. The key to successful exporting is knowing how to recognize international opportunities while minimizing the risks. That leads to the question of what skills and knowledge are necessary to succeed globally? This is a particularly important question for small and mid-sized exporters as they often use internal staff to grow their exports rather than hire-in the expertise.
