2019 Small Business Month Recap

Each year, the Small Business Administration designates the first week in May (May 5 – 11) as National Small Business Week, but here in Charlotte, we celebrated all month long.

Throughout the month, which kicked off on May 1 and ran through May 31, CBR saluted local pioneers who think big, take risks and work hard to keep the Charlotte economy thriving. From local pastry shops to mobile laundry services, we highlighted proud small business owners throughout the Charlotte region through engaging success stories, exclusive networking events, and a premier billboard giveaway.

Networking Kick-off Event:

To kick-off Charlotte Small Business Month, CBR held its annual Small Business Month Kick-off event on Wednesday,  May 1 at Resident Culture Brewing. The event connected  Charlotte entrepreneurs and small business leaders to network with each other and learn about unique businesses from all over the area. We thank all who came out and participated, and cannot wait until next year!

Billboard Giveaway:

In honor of Charlotte Small Business Month, CBR highlighted one lucky business on the digital billboards at the Epicentre in Uptown Charlotte. The winner, Pristine Wraps Company, received free advertising alongside CharlotteBusinessResources.com for three weeks in May! Read about the 2019 CBR Billboard Giveaway Winner here.

As a grand finale to Charlotte Small Business Month, CBR applauded 30 small business heroes throughout the region to share their entrepreneurial journey.
