CBRbiz.com: What do you enjoy most about what you do?

Ed Roper: What I enjoy most about what I do is the fact that I love what I do. Construction has always been a passion for me. I remember when I was a teenager and dreamed about having my own construction company. My dream actually came true. That is what I enjoy the most.

CBRbiz.com: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Ed Roper: If I could have one super power, it would be the power to make everybody smile. I have always had an outgoing personality and I enjoy making people laugh and smile. I believe laughter is medicine for the soul!

CBRbiz.com: What do you think is your best characteristic as an entrepreneur?

Ed Roper: I would say that my best characteristic as an entrepreneur is my ability to empower people and listen. Listening is always key if you want to grow. You have to realize and understand what you don’t know. That is even more critical than what you do know. By empowering your employees, you give them the freedom to make mistakes, which allows them to learn and become better and smarter. I would much rather build up the employees around me and have them leave than not build them up and have them stay.
