The Quest for Financing

Panelists: Ellie McIntire (Carolina Premier Bank), Patrick Mizzell (Regions Bank), Derek Painter (BB&T)

For the business owner seeking a bank loan, this session will give specific details to prepare you to meet with prospective lenders – the forms, the questions, the process, the timing! The panel will define the loan application process, from initial conversations with a banker through commitment letter. The panel will give a list of key questions that every business owner should have well-rehearsed before scheduling a meeting to discuss a loan request. A key feature is that potential borrowers will learn about bank’s internal decision process – from the loan officer to the underwriter. “Lender lingo” will be demystified by our panelists, and business owners will gain valuable advice to improve probabilities of loan approval.

Financials Matter!
Panel Moderator: Eileen Joyce (SBA)
Panelists: Dan Gotte (Rock Solid Finance),  Jenni Lough Watson (Swiftdogz),  Don Flowe (Blue Harbor Bank)

P&L – Cash flow statements – Equity injection?  What does it mean!?!  If the only financial documents you have are your business tax returns, you may have a hard time getting financing for your business. This session will discuss what you need to get a loan and why this is important.

Where To Go When the Bank Says “No”
Panel Moderator: Janet Brown (Self-Help Venture Funds)
Panelists: Greg Brown (Cardinal Finance), Lynn Douthett (SBA), Sylvia Stock (LSQ Funding)

For many businesses a traditional bank loan is not an option for funding. The reasons are varied and not necessarily due to poor financials. If bank lending is not an option for you, join in on the discussion of some alternative funding solutions including asset based lending, SBA financing support, angel investing and other ways to meet your funding needs.

Closings: The Legal Side of Things
Panel Moderator: Abbie Baynes (Abbie G. Baynes, LLC)
Panelists: Eric Galuszka (Douglas K. Simmons & Associates, PLLC), Bob Donlon (Horack Talley), Cindy Kiker, (BEFCOR)
