For many children, the traditional educational system isn’t challenging enough to keep them fully engaged. STEM professionals Tuhin Dutt and Jordan Burke saw this firsthand when they volunteered to create a mathematics enrichment club at their children’s elementary school. The results of their club were so successful that they decided to launch Thinking Feet, an educational resource designed to nurture creative problem solving skills via an enhanced curriculum that challenges children and encourages critical thinking. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Tuhin and Jordan didn’t miss a beat by pivoting to online learning in just three days.
Thinking Feet received a grant from the Innovation Fund which they used to build more programs for older students, to start a program for loaner robots, and to create engineering kits for use at home.
